  • Website Revamp for a Rare Disease Awareness Non-Profit

Project Introduction :

Indian Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (IOIF) is a non-governmental organization working toward building a strong community for individuals affected by Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) — a rare genetic bone disorder. Based in Bangalore with a pan-India reach, the foundation focuses on medical care, awareness, and quality-of-life improvement for people with OI. The organization is led by OI survivors and supported by medical professionals specializing in the condition.

Problem :

Though IOIF had been active for a few years, its digital presence did not reflect its purpose or scale of work. The existing website, built on a basic WordPress template, lacked structure, visual consistency, and SEO optimization — making it difficult for people to discover or engage with the foundation online.

This concern came to the forefront when Pluralis Digital’s founder, Parikshit Shah — an OI survivor himself — connected with the IOIF team and identified the opportunity to elevate their online presence. The objective was to create a modern, functional, and search-friendly website that could communicate IOIF’s mission effectively and serve as an active bridge between the foundation and the OI community.

Solution :

Pluralis Digital proposed a complete website overhaul, focused on improving structure, aesthetics, and discoverability while keeping costs minimal.

The process included:

  • Hosting Migration: Moving the website to our agency-managed WordPress hosting for improved stability and support.
  • Design Upgrade: Implementing a premium WordPress theme tailored for non-profits, ensuring a clean, accessible, and compassionate design language.
  • Content & SEO Optimization: Developing cornerstone content, optimizing meta elements, and integrating plugins to meet SEO best practices.
  • Collaborative Workflow: Engaging the IOIF team throughout the design and development phase to ensure medical and contextual accuracy.
  • Communication Setup: Adding user-friendly contact channels, including inquiry forms and email integrations, to facilitate direct outreach.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Delivering a custom guidebook to empower IOIF’s internal team to manage website updates independently.

The redesign process was completed in 15 days, ensuring quick deployment without compromising on quality or functionality.

Results :

The new IOIF website launched with a professional design, intuitive navigation, and improved search visibility.

  • Within four weeks, the site began ranking on Google’s first page for key OI-related terms.
  • Visitors, including patients, parents, and caregivers, began contacting the foundation directly through the website.
  • The IOIF team reported increased confidence in using and managing their platform autonomously.

The website now serves as a credible digital hub for the OI community in India, strengthening the foundation’s outreach and support efforts nationwide.

Conclusion :

Pluralis Digital helped IOIF evolve from a basic online presence to a fully functional, search-optimized, and community-driven platform.

Through empathetic design, collaborative execution, and smart optimization, we transformed their website into a powerful tool for awareness, outreach, and empowerment — one that truly reflects the heart of their mission.
